I did not forget my promise to post more often, or to do a “free reading” for all subscribers.
Things just got complicated, in relation to an upcoming trip to Portugal (today through the 15th.)
In other words, I’ve been battling the paper monster of bureaucracy and it seemed like every time I sat down to post something an emergency occurred that robbed me of mental space.
Good news and knocking on head: as of two days ago, we appear to have won that battle. Hopefully it stays so.
Further good news: In the middle of all the stress and insanity, my writing brain suddenly kicked into gear and I finished No Man’s Land. It also makes me hesitant to post anymore of it, because I figured out as I finished it what needs to happen for the second draft.
I was hoping to finish the second draft before leaving, but see where Murphy has been too much with us. Whenever I finish, and it might be in Portugal, connection permitting, I’ll upload it to book funnel and link it here, as an e-arc, free for paid subscribers. (Which is what I intend to do with the others.)
Depending on how h*llish the trip turns out to be or not h*llish, I might have this ready when we land there sometime tomorrow (we lose eight hours on the trip, so not finishing the trip today) in which case, it’s more a matter of connection. I’m told my brother’s house now has high speed internet, but I have no idea what it means for that area.
If we make it to castles and Celtic ruins (The younger almost-DIL unsurprisingly is interested in Celtic ruins) I will post pictures here, either right after or when we get back.
Also, now that No Man’s Land has ALMOST let go of my brain, I will finish Witch’s Daughter ASAP (I know all the steps) and re-read what I have in Winter Prince, to figure out how much of a rewrite it needs before I finish it.
Those will also be released as earcs to paid subscribers before public release.
Eventually/soonish I will work out a way to buy the final version as an early release directly from me before it goes up on Amazon. I promise. This year has been special in the way of distractions and well, a book stealing my brain. I don’t expect things to calm down, precisely, but I expect the mode of continuous distraction to maybe slow down a bit so I can work on those tech refinments? Okay, stop laughing. I can hope, right?
I’d like to do a reading for free today, but I’m not going to promise it. We leave… soonish and I’m only half packed.
Anyway, keep me in your thoughts as given the way the year has been, leaving for two weeks in October of an election year feels a bit…. daring.
You guys keep the lights on while I’m gone, and hopefully I’ll have tasty reads for you upon my return.
